Remus gently lifted his hand, looking at the butterfly. ”You must be very talented to conjure something like that…though, I have to say, I’m curious about where you come from. I think you’ve made it very clear you’re not a local.”

“I’m not local, you’re right.” Sigyn told Remus. “I, uh…have you ever heard of a place called Asgard? I know you have some myths about it…though most of them tend to be a little tall…”

“I have heard of Asgard…in Norse mythology, it’s one of the Nine Worlds and the capital for the Norse Gods.” Remus smiled. ”I read a lot…sometimes my partner will tease me about that, saying it’s not like I’m going to meet someone from there. I guess I’ve proven him wrong.”

“Yes.” Sigyn smiled back. “I’m Sigyn, goddess of fidelity. My husband is Loki…god of mischief.” Sigyn nodded. “Asgard is…complicated. Your myths make it sound so nice, but the reality is that I’d rather live on Midgard with my husband…Midgard is a very nice place. Maybe we’ll find a flat somewhere…have a couple of kids…it would be nice.”

“I don’t know how nice Midgard is…but at least the war’s over around here…finally.” Remus gave Sigyn the exhausted smile characteristic of one that had gone through a terrible war.

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends:
faithfully-sigyn:

“Yeah….I’ve never been a high enough rank in anything…actually, I’m pretty low in regards to wizarding society…my paternal grandparents are Mug—non-magic folk, I’m gay and I’m…”

Remus stopped abruptly, surprised that he almost blurted out his biggest secret. Though, it wasn’t as if Sigyn was a typical human…or human at all…

“Well, Remus, you’re a lot more enjoyable than a lot of the nobility I know.” Sigyn nodded. “You may not be noble by birth, but your spirit is the true essence of nobility.” She tilted her head. “So you can do magic as well? It’s quite a useful tool, is it not? Cleaning my own house would drive me mad if I had to do it without my magic.” Sigyn chuckled.

“Thank you….I could certainly say the same about you. Many of the high society in wizarding culture are…not people I want to hang around with, though my lover is an exception…he comes from a blue-blooded family but retained none of their negative values.”

Remus sipped his coffee, and tapped the mug with his wand to warm it up. ”And yes…magic is so convenient. I doubt I’d be able to keep the house so clean without it…especially where Sirius and I live.”

“That’s good.” Sigyn eyed the wooden wand curiously. “Is that…a magic conduit? How wonderful! I have never seen one like that before. I don’t use one myself.” She gripped her coffee cup gently in her hands, and it wasn’t long before steam rolled from the reheated beverage. “One of the reasons my husband and I get along so well, I believe, is that we are both magic users in a realm that prides itself on warriors.” She nodded.

“Err….yes….in our society, we’re trained to use wands.” Remus held his out so Sigyn could take a look. ”I know a few wandless spells, like so…” A small magical fire appeared in the palm of his hand, and then just as quickly went away. ”But those tend to be much more difficult.”

“Oh wow…” Sigyn held out her hands and conjured a butterfly. It was green and yellow, mostly because she was thinking of her husband when she brought it to life. It fluttered up, and landed on Remus’ hand, resting there. “My husband…sometimes I beg him to teach me things if I see him do an interesting spell.” Sigyn grinned.

Remus gently lifted his hand, looking at the butterfly. ”You must be very talented to conjure something like that…though, I have to say, I’m curious about where you come from. I think you’ve made it very clear you’re not a local.”

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends:
faithfully-sigyn:

“I know the feeling….Sirius can be….difficult. Sometimes immature, often hot-headed and impulsive…but he’s loyal and sweet and have the most beautiful grey eyes…” Remus trailed off, his mind somewhere else for a few moments. ”….I guess we really are similar. Our husbands…well…they might not be the typical depiction of a loving, devoted partner…but we love them and they love us…and at the end of the day, that’s the important part, right?”

“It is.” Sigyn agreed. “That is the most important part…I’d say it’s the most important part.” She smiled. “To loving husbands…” She toasted with her coffee cup, chuckling warmly. “That we love, even without being able to understand why they do what they do.” She sipped her coffee. “My husband…thinks he can’t be the domestic type…but he doesn’t realize that I think that’s fine, because I’m his wife. I’m supposed to be the one to take care of him, and wait for him while he goes off…and well, gets himself killed. Or worse. I don’t know - I never know if or when he’s coming home…” Sigyn sighed.

“Well…I’m not sure what the traditional roles are when your partner is male too…but I’m the one who is usually keeping the house in order and making sure Sirius doesn’t self-destruct…which is okay. I’m more suited to that job…and Sirius gives me love and acceptance in return…which is more than what I could ever hope for with most people.” Remus was suddenly very self-conscious of the tell-tale claw marks on his face, a sign of his monthly transformations.

“You sound like a wonderful person. Your husband is very blessed.” Sigyn smiled at Remus. She noticed the scars, but when you were a goddess drinking coffee in a cafe in Midgard, you tended to notice question things too much. “I didn’t have to clean the house myself until I came to Midgard…er, Earth.” Sigyn tried to correct her slip. “Before then, I had a high enough rank due to my husband that I didn’t have to clean. My husband brought some people home once, some sort of meeting. I thought I would /never/ get the red out of that carpet…I think my husband changed out the carpet when I was out book shopping one day.”

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends

Confessions of a Faithful Wife: Making New Friends:
faithfully-sigyn:

“We have a godson…his name is Harry, and he’s the son of two beloved but departed friends. We weren’t able to be in his life that much at first, as Sirius was in jail and Harry was sent to live with his mother’s family…” Remus wrinkled his nose at the thought of the Dursleys ”…but we’re a family now. And…since the war’s over, I know I would like to perhaps adopt a child or two…but I haven’t had a chance to talk it over with Sirius yet.”

Sigyn smiled.
“That sounds like a wonderful dream.” Sigyn murmured. “If I could ever pin my husband down long enough, I’d love to have more children…” She realized how she phrased that, and she had the grace to blush. “That came out wrong. So, so wrong. But you know what I mean.” She laughed. “Children are one of life’s greatest blessings, aren’t they?”

Remus snickered. ”Well…that could also lead to more children.” His eyes sparkled a bit. ”I’m sorry, my close friends growing up were pranksters…I’m used to joking about that…and yes, they are.” He smiled brightly. ”I used to be a teacher, a number of years ago…now that the war’s over…well, we’ll see what my options are.”

“A teacher? Ah, my husband is a great scholar…such a brilliant mind.” Sigyn sighed. “He has little patience to teach anyone, though.” Sigyn nodded. “But yes…I suppose pinning my husband down would lead to more children, but he’s such a mischievous man. As soon as you think you have him, you realize it’s a double and he’s actually standing across the room. And the way his green eyes look when he know he just pulled a fast one on you…I wouldn’t trade him for anyone or anything in all of the nine realms.”

Remus looked over at the stately woman who had sat near him at the cafe and smiled. ”I’d know that look anywhere…I take it we’re both members of the ‘waiting for our husbands to come home’ club.”

Sigyn looked at Remus, and a tired smile crossed her face. She was young, but in…

Remus sipped his coffee. On the third finger on his left hand was a gold band: after Remus’s proposal, Sirius had gone through many of the old Black relics to find a ring for his partner to wear. It was a hard task, finding something that was large enough for Remus’s hand and not made of silver, but the result looked nice.

“Well…technically we’re not married…only because where we live frowns upon two men being married. But I’ve been with him long enough that we might as well be.” He took another sip. ”It hasn’t been months yet…but he’s away on a mission. It used to be worse: a long time ago, he was wrongfully jailed for a crime he didn’t commit…I didn’t see him for twelve years.”

Sigyn’s ring was old, but she worked hard to keep it cleaned and looking nice.
“You’re close enough to married.” Sigyn agreed. “Wow…that’s a pretty steep jail time - did they even give him a trial? My husband…I always hate it when he’s gone. He’s cheated on me before…Gods only know why…I feel like our marriage is strained, at best, but I still miss him and love him so much…” She shook her head. “You probably think I’m crazy…So your husband…what kind of person is he?” She was admittedly curious.

“No…there was no trial…it was a different time…a paranoid time. People were looking for a scapegoat, they didn’t care about evidence…though, he was very much set up by the real perpetrator, someone we thought was an old friend.” He listened to Sigyn speak and smiled. ”No…I don’t think you’re crazy…just in love. We all get that way about the ones we love.” He took another sip of his coffee. ”Sirius…he’s a good man….impatient, impulsive, and with a terrible tendency to act before he thinks, but a very good, loyal man. I’ve been in love with him since we were teens…and that hasn’t wavered once.”

“Your Sirius sounds like a very good man. Love…it makes one do crazy things. Like hold on and hope for the best.” Sigyn nodded. “My husband…when we were married, I thought he was someone else. But the man I was supposed to marry had…disappeared. My husband disguised himself as my fiance and didn’t tell the truth until after we were married.” Sigyn thanked the waitress when she refilled Sigyn’s coffee cup. “By then, no one could annul the marriage. Our families…were very strict. But I told him that I made the vow to be faithful to him until death do us part, so I stayed by him. At some point…I genuinely fell in love with him, with this trickster who’d stolen away my real fiancee and married me under false pretenses. Not as sweet and beautiful as your love story…” Sigyn sipped her black coffee. “I even gave him two sons…being so full of fidelity when he’s not is difficult, but I like to think we manage…”

Remus listened to Sigyn’s story, trying not to drop his coffee cup as she recounted how she married Loki. He let it sit in his brain for a moment before speaking: ”…Well…I think…if you two love each other…then you should be able to manage just fine. Everyone’s story is different, after all.”

“I love him.” Sigyn nodded. “But…I know not if he feels the same anymore.” She stared into her coffee cup. “We’ve been together for a very long time. A very, very long time. But I still hold hope that he does love me. And I hope that one day, he will come back to me…and maybe we can have a family. It would be nice.” She murmured. “Have you and your husband ever adopted any children?”

Making New Friends

Remus looked over at the stately woman who had sat near him at the cafe and smiled. ”I’d know that look anywhere…I take it we’re both members of the ‘waiting for our husbands to come home’ club.”

I'll be right behind you, love...I wouldn't want to miss this for the world. ;D <3Moonys-Padfoot

Alright, love…but hurry up. ;D

Magic!Anon: For three hours, you're incredibly horny.
